Things to do in Naples Melinda Gunther November 13, 2025
Short version
Book your favorite tables now, keep a high-end Plan B, and save room for the markets that make Naples sparkle. This is a locals’ playbook with the right names to call, when to call, and what to do if the books look full.
Skim the Quick Book List and lock in your top two.
Add one sunset view and one lively late spot.
Build a weekend around a market or parade.
Keep the Plan B scripts handy for last-minute wins.
Waterfront dinner: Baleen at LaPlaya, The Turtle Club, The Dock at Crayton Cove, M Waterfront Grille.
Old Naples favorites: Campiello, Osteria Tulia, Bar Tulia, The Continental, Ridgway Bar & Grill.
Gulf-front occasion: The Grill at The Ritz-Carlton, Gumbo Limbo, Dune at The Ritz-Carlton, Tiburón.
Elegant brunch: The Venetian Bay staples, The French, Jane’s Café in the Garden.
Cocktails with a view: Sails, Edgewater Beach Hotel’s bar terrace, BALEEN’s beachfront lounge.
Live music vibe: The London Club for jazz, Dogtooth Bar for classic sets, Sugar Shack in Bonita for a late dance fix.
Timing tip
Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, and New Year’s Eve fill quickly. Book prime times by phone first, then use OpenTable as a fallback. If you love bar dining, request it directly. Many premium rooms hold prime bar seats off-platform.
Polished classics: Ridgway Bar & Grill, The Grill at The Ritz-Carlton, Campiello.
On the water: The Dock at Crayton Cove for a relaxed harbor feel.
Strategy: Ask for patio or covered terrace with heat lamps. If they are full, request a waitlist with a call-back window.
Dressier evenings: The Continental courtyard, Sails, Dune at The Ritz-Carlton, Tiburón.
Cozy Italian: Osteria Tulia or Campiello for a warm, twinkle-lit night.
Strategy: Call two weeks prior to your date. Offer a flexible arrival time and accept bar or high-top.
Toast the Gulf: Baleen at LaPlaya or Gumbo Limbo for sunset into fireworks.
Lively in town: The French for festive energy, The London Club for music and midnight.
Strategy: Verify prix-fixe vs à la carte, ask about children’s seating early, and confirm where the midnight moment happens.
Pelican Bay boardwalk sunset first, late seating after.
Third Street South tree lights and snow!, then Campiello courtyard.
Venetian Bay stroll, then M Waterfront Grille for reflections on the water.
Third Street South Farmers Market (Saturdays)
A locals’ ritual for flowers, pastries, and perfect people-watching before the beach.
Village Shops on Venetian Bay Holiday Happenings
Evenings with lights on the water and boutique browsing.
Mercato Holiday Events
Outdoor concerts, family nights, and easy parking for groups.
Christmas on Third and the Tree Lighting on Third Street South
Classic Naples magic under the canopy complete with snow
Naples Christmas Parade down Fifth Avenue South
Bring a light sweater and arrive early.
Boat Parades on Naples Bay and Venetian Bay (Sat Dec 13)
Then grab dinner nearby.
When the book looks full
“Hi there. We are hoping for a terrace table for two, flexible between 6 and 7:30. If you have bar or high-top first, we are happy with that. Could you add us to the waitlist and call if anything opens?”
For day-of openings
“Good afternoon. We are local and nearby. If you have a weather-dependent cancellation or a table that just turned, we can be there in 12 minutes.”
For a special night
“We are celebrating with out-of-town family and would love something with a view. We can arrive early, happy to dine at the bar if that helps.”
Bar dining at Sails, The Continental, or Tulia. Often the best energy in the house.
Early or late seatings. Sunset hour goes first. Try 5:15 or after 8:15.
Neighboring gems in Park Shore, Moorings, and Old Naples North with easier parking and quick pivots.
Takeout picnic at the beach with a premium bottle and blanket for a perfectly simple evening.
Request kids’ menus in advance.
Bring a light cardigan for patios. Gulf breezes can surprise you.
Ask for half-portions for younger diners at finer spots. Many kitchens will accommodate.
Private chef or catered holiday course for a home or condo with a view.
Boat day with a captain that ends near your dinner reservation.
Pre-theater dinner timed to live music or a gallery walk.
Do I need reservations everywhere during the holidays?
For prime nights and water views, yes. Bars and early seatings can be more flexible.
Where are the easiest waterfront parking options?
Venetian Bay and the Crayton Cove area are friendly to quick in-and-outs. Fifth Avenue and Third Street are beautiful but arrive early or use rideshare.
Are dress codes enforced?
Resort elegant is always right. Jackets are welcomed at top rooms. Chic flats for cobblestones.
Any tips for large families?
Call directly, ask for a partial buyout or a set menu, and secure a deposit. Consider a chef at home for Christmas Day.
What if we want live music with dinner?
The London Club for polished jazz and supper club energy. Dogtooth for a casual set. Sugar Shack for a dance after.
Can you help with hard-to-get reservations?
Yes. I share my locals’ roster and will happily assist clients with planning.
If you are visiting and thinking about a home here, I will help you experience Naples the way locals do. From a sunset table to a waterfront tour of neighborhoods, consider this your personal welcome.
Ready for a tailored list in your favorite neighborhoods?
Call or text and I will send a quiet, private lineup of homes to preview between dinners and beach walks.
